Delicious and Nutritious Vegan Kids Lunches
Vegan Kids Lunch Ideas
Do you ever hit a wall, wondering what to feed your vegan children for lunch? We do too. We're sharing our real-life lunches with you in hopes of making your mornings a little bit easier.
Nikko and Orion are 6 and 10 years old and these are some of the lunches we've sent our boys off to school with. We try to not serve the same foods two days in a row, and we think in at least a 2-week lunch rotation to give them variety. We also consider their lunches in the larger context of the breakfasts and dinners of the week.
Nikko and Orion are also involved. We'll ask them what they want in their lunches and if the amounts of food are right for them. We've recently added another container of food to eat for a snack because they were asking for more. We're always on the search for new foods to include.
We believe all this is working because their lunchboxes return with nary a crumb in them. :-)
You can ask Nikko and Orion questions about their lunches or what it's been like to eat a plant-based diet their whole lives. They help moderate our Thriving Vegan Families private online community.
Lentil vegetable soup, homemade savory scone, baby carrots, bursting tomatoes, mandarine, plum, dried bananas, ginger cookies, sesame seed bar.
Feel confident that you're providing the best plant-based nutrition for your child's development.

Simple, Fun, Nutritious
Staying creative with vegan kid's lunches can be a fun challenge, especially when providing lunches every day. We love knowing our kids are getting all the nutrients they need in our homemade lunches. We make them fun by including a napkin with a bit of art or a short message and often a note with a joke, riddle, fun fact, or encouragement and gratitude for the kids to share. We get regular reports from Orion and Nikko that their classmates wish they were eating their lunches. Some of their friends even ask us if we can make them a jar of our pesto or provide horseradish sauce for a spicy lunch challenge.
We hope this Vegan Kids Lunch Guide saves you some time in your plant-based lunch prep, whether your kids are attending in-person school or distance learning. We even provide a nutritional analysis of a typical lunch so you can see how easy it is to give your kids the nutrients they need.
